Tom McRobert has had a diverse career in the aviation industry. Since June 2005, he has been working as an Air Traffic Controller for Airservices Australia, in area and approach units across cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Adelaide. He is also an On-the-Job Training Instructor and Check Controller.

For the past 20 years, Tom has also been a keen pilot. He is senior Grade 1 instructor, guiding and mentoring students through flight and theory sequences required for obtaining private and commercial pilot licenses.

Since August 2016, Tom has held the position of President at Civil Air Australia. He is also involved in various charitable organisations that help people in need.

Tom was appointed as acting EVP Finance of IFATCA in June 2023 and confirmed in this position at the 2024 Annual Conference.
